--- Quote from: Private McDoggy on December 05, 2010, 03:13:25 AM ---That is stupid, every game that I have bought I have played for more than a day and some more than 50 hours. I have played Oblivion for more than 4 days on one save. I have 300+ hours on Garry's mod and 200 hours on TF2 and still play them. And even if you don't play a game you get to keep that game forever but you still have to pay monthly for WoW and other MMOs.

I'm not saying all games are like this, just a lot of them now. I'm just showing that WoW, and other MMO's, aren't necessarily expensive when you look at how many hours you get in a month for just 15 dollars.

I also never said in my post that all games were like this, just a lot of them now. Companies like Valve, Blizzard, etc are usually the ones making the good long lasting games, but then you have games like (although good) Assassins Creed, Fable, God of War, etc, that you beat once and don't really feel the need to beat again. You don't get your moneys worth, in time, out of them.
--- Quote from: underdog11 on December 04, 2010, 10:57:20 PM ---I usually get much more time out of my games, TF2 for example, I have played that for 100+ hours and still enjoy. Not only that but I got it in the orange box so instead of being 20 dollars for that one game it was 30 for 3 games, 10 dollars for 100+ hours of game fun. AND it is being constantly updated. Not trying cramp your style ;P but just saying some retail games like TF2 can have tons of game time, replay value, and cost effectiveness.
EDIT:
Oh yeah, hope this game goes good, I'm not even going to try and get a beta key seeing as right now I'm limited to my school MAC, school part's not bad, MAC part is :(

Yeah again, I never said all games.
Obviously a multi-player game will have a lot of replay value, but that's because they were designed to center around multi-player. Games that don't center around multi-player, but incorporate it, generally have a shorter multi-player experience.
EDIT: Anyways, there's no point in arguing this. It generally boils down to "my parents won't pay for the game so I can't play it".

You're suppose to wait to be selected to be in the beta weekend. (?)

I get what you mean, but I only buy games like CoD, Halo, Assassin's Creed, GTA, L4D
Mainly games that never "end".
