QuakeWorld is a blast to play, and I would love to see people start playing it again.
Most of the links to websites on forums have 404'd/the site is gone, but the game is still a lot of fun.
You can play QuakeWorld without buying Quake but it is advised because you don't get a lot of maps with the shareware Quake.
