The resolution on a TV is low. If I remember Bisjac correctly it just stretches pixels, so the picture can never look as good as it will on a computer monitor of that same resolution (Which is cheaper)
This. It's even in the name on HD TVs- a 16:9 widescreen TV at 1080p has an absolute max res of 1920x1080.
