Data Block Limit

Mason32:
I hit the limit just a day ago and I was really annoyed to find I had to delete some of my good addons just to make space.

(Off Topic: My Data Blocks now equal 3847)

Q: What is the Data Block Limit?

A:The Data Block Limit is something that stops a server running to may addons. So after the limit has been reached all the addons after that are disabled. The Data Block Limit is 4098.

Although there should be no limit, there also shouldn't be a need for that many add-ons. I'm pretty sure Badspot is just protecting your computer from exploding.
Tom:
The datalock limit was not made to limit the number of add-ons. It was made because of technical limitations.

Note that. After that point, the game can become unstable. Also, having so many add-ons causes extremely long load times and lag on lower end computers.

Really, there's many, MANY reasons for this limit. Many of them are requirements.

Why would you need more then 4098 Data Blocks?
