Trading Cards - That old Add-On from 2007... I found it.

I don't see the problem here, the only visible difference would be the fringe on the outside most likely.
Replace the gold parts with blue, no big deal.
And it provides a quick reference to see how rare this card might be.
It's not like certain silver cards won't be rarer than others.

I dislike your system. I though of it as following.

Red (Just an example, but I kinda like the idea.): Epic/Legendary/Something
These cards are extremely rare. Only few (Perhaps a dozen?) exist of selected players. If you by chance happen to own a card of this type, you are one lucky bastard.

Gold: Rare
The rarest card to the common player. Generally the rarest cards around from the community's point of view. Since the red cards are so rare you will probably never have anything rarer than this.

Silver: Uncommon
Bridging the gap between common and gold. Average rarity.

Blue: Common
Your basic bread and butter common cards that will litter your deck.

So if I made what is blue now red, and made some sort of really-common card type (possibly ones you just start off with) would you be okay?

Do you have any opinions on the formation of this mod, Chrono?

Nope.

Yes.

Common (Blue) as in <insert random player name here that nobody knows>. (This stuff forms 80-90% of your deck.)
Uncommon (Silver) as in Bushido.
Rare (Gold) as in Ephialtes.
Red (Whatever) as in Badspot.

Catch my drift?

You do realize that's hardly any different than what I was gonna do.
Except there wouldn't be any semi-rare rank, just common rare and really-rare.
But that works for me I guess.

Unless you're implying that the idea that:

the common type of card getting handed out many times to a player possibly, and having the rarer one cap at one give out per player, and the rarest card type only being able to be gotten from people actually handing them out
(e.g. blue and silver can be found randomly an unlimted amount of times, gold can only be found once randomly, and red can only be gotten from special events)

 is a bad idea.
