But it gets loving boring on the 2nd playthrough.

If you want strategic, then games like Warcraft 3 are real good for that.

Oh yeah, got Portal a while ago when it was free.

I was looking for a game with more character customization, but with a good storyline and lots of guns.

I guarantee you that Mass Effect 1 and/or 2 will be satisfactory then.

I'd suggest Spellforce which is a really good game in my opinion.

Orange Box, it has Half-Life 2 along with Chapters 1-2 and TF2.
I also recommend the Civilization IV Complete Pack.
I'm just about to get New Vegas myself and I hear its good.
Also, I think you might like Killing Floor.
