TF2/Gmod doesn't know who I am

Did you restart Steam? Someone I knew had this problem and something simple like that fixed it.

Well, I heard about that, so I quit steam and started it. I assume that is the same.
Is there any other means of doing it?

I bought the valve complete back a few years back. It's $100 dollars. Around then we were middle-class.

If they were lying, they must have been pretty good to keep it up for a year and a half.

I get that sometimes, but for windows it's ctrl alt del and end process hl2.exe that clears it up, or restarting steam.
