I'm really starting to go off this rkynick guy.

Don't make spawns
If you don't want spawnkilling.

I don't see how that could possibly be relevant in the slightest.
Spawnkilling is usually the result of using a 'class selector' through events, which, may be hard to do in 2.5 seconds, meaning as soon as they choose their class and whatnot, they are able to be killed. The reason you don't see spawnkilling in servers that don't involve 'class selection' and tiny bases is because those servers allow the player to fight back for 2.5 seconds while taking zero damage, and not get bombed to hell from the outside.
In fact, my server had huge bases and no class selection, and there was not one complaint about spawn killing, even with just 1 entrance and on top of that, the objective was IN the enemy's base, and the enemy players spawn around this objective.

The second point just means that if they are getting spawn killed, it will not last forever, in fact, getting spawn killed will make it end quicker unless it's time based.

Yeah but its all pointless.

Just make a spawn that makes spawnkilling nigh impossible and nothing else matters.

I never really thought about them in two different ways. I just thought they went hand-in-hand.
Class TDM servers generally prevent that, but if players get teleported out of the class choosing areas, and get killed in less than 5 seconds, they scream out in fury. It's not spawnkilling if that occurs, it's tele..spawn...killing...

Some people want to host a quality minigame without people building loads of crap outside.

On free for all maps or non-sidear maps, it hepls to have as Many loving spawns as possible so you have no idea where someone is spawning.

And make them quite far apart and secluded if you can help it.

Sort of on topic: In order to make a good DM/TDM you must understand The Art of War.

Off Topic: I find it very annoying when people complain that they were killed while typing. It seems very stupid that they complain of such. I mean really if your going to complain about being killed while typing then I suggest hiding while typing, type faster, or don't type at all!
