TF2 not working?

i was gifted tf2 by Mr.Jacksaunt (thanks again) and i was very excited to play it.
i wanted to play the tutorial first so i clicked on the button and was eagerly waiting for the load to end, when suddenly, error message.i was about 75% through when it happened. please help :c
