Kalphiter:

Pingdom in a nutshell: OH stuff ONE PACKET DIDN'T MAKE IT, forget THE HOST MUST BE DOWN, LET'S NOT SEND ANOTHER PACKET TO CONFIRM.

This is how Pingdom works, it sends out a ping packet once per minute but never any more. They should be ashamed for such stuffty service.

Get serious with uptime monitoring or get lost.

Rub:

That's not how I have it configured, but thanks for your concern.

I guess my study of Pingdom pings (specifically of the monitoring you were doing) somehow mismatched the monitoring you were doing. :cookieMonster:

Maybe the free account is limited like that, not sure, it's definitely not how my checks work though..

What Pingdom considers to be a service disruption is not the same as what it considers to be a service outage, perhaps your study wasn't thorough enough on the specifics? Besides, the test server of my provider has had 100% uptime in the same period, it can't all be Pingdom's fault, can it?

Not how your check works? Oh please, it was your checks I was investigating. They work minute-by-minute.

Funny how no one is complaining about issues. You're free to leave this thread now.
