I recommend Milkshape3D because it is much easier to learn than Blender. There are many basic features as well as advanced ones when you master the former. If you are just starting out, try the trial version of it for thirty days. If you like it, great, if you don't, switch to blender now that you know some off the modeling basics.

In my opinion Milkshape is harder to learn than Blender. I can't figure it out. It's too simple.
