| Blockland and Portal 2. |

I also went through this portal frenzy. (and all the other frenzies that sparked Valve-Based games, except TF2, I never attempted that) I am also kinda sick of all of the Valve-to-BL remakes, I know I'm a hypocrite for hating them but really, there is no remake that even remotely compares to the quality of the game, most of them suck. -Almost every TDM I go to has TF2 classes, and all of them suck at replicating them. -No L4B or Zapt user has created anything remotely as quality as L4D. All a bunch of random, hard to follow, city lay outs with some zombie spawns. -The only Portal remake that interested me was Space Guys, and this is because instead of recreating portal, his had a feel as if Aperture Science had based them self in blockland and were using aspects from the tutorial. (such as the water with electricity, instead of acid.) Space Guy also claimed he had never played Portal, so this was good because he had nothing to reference but his own creativity and other crap people have made. -I have also never seen a decent Half-Life 2 remake, I myself am not even a fan of the several pieces of crap I've pushed out with an HL2 label, or semi-HL2 label. I don't think I'll ever be able to stop trying to make that crap until I finally make a decent BL-styled remake of my old Airboats server. I am hella excited for Portal 2, but not for the reused Blockland test chambers with a few weeds and vines added here and there. |

Double Post Trololo I'm almost positive from hearing from Space Guy that a portal you can see through would be impossible. It would be so amazing to make ANY mod that you can do this, I would love a print brick that could show you a view of a build or something for security cameras, I would crap my pants. But I don't think I've heard from anyone that it is possible Mirrors never worked, they made one map with a really hacky mirror and I think it got removed, so Badspot must have thought it wasn't very good for the game. Don't get the "anything is possible, YOU CAN DO IT ALL!! <3" attitude just yet because this really is only torque. It can only handle so much. |

I see your point, Jay the Cartoonist. Blockland is no where near as high a quality a game as the kind of things Valve makes, so an attempted remake can only go so far. Personally, Jirue's build of GLaDOS' chamber positively astounded me. It was the most amazing build I had ever seen at the time. So in that respect, I can really appreciate the Blockland remakes because of their idea that they're a sort of "mini-model" of the real game. I play the remakes for their simplified sense of the game, and also for the pleasure of seeing how people have creatively used Blockland's features to make something like Portal. That's one thing that I really look forward to more than anything with the Portal 2 Blockland remakes, is the use of Physics with the rotting Enrichment Center. With the way the Enrichment Center is rotting and falling apart, I think that could create a really interesting effect with the way it falls apart as you walk through it and interact with it, especially in Blockland. But absolutely, I don't play the remakes for them to be fun. I don't expect them to be as functional as the real game, either. I've never played Half Life 1 or 2, so I can't say much about that. Do we have features from Half Life in Blockland? I haven't noticed any, yet. |

I swear that the last time I checked Portal 2, maybe a week or two ago, it said it was coming out on February 4th. Now it just says it's coming "2011". Well, I'm sure there's a good reason for it to come out later. No use rushing it. Thanks for the info. >_>; |
