What joints do I need to put on my gun and projectile. Where and what name?

Im trying to make a gun but Ive never made guns before. And I need to know what joints I need to put on the model and where I need to put them. Please tell me the name of the join and what place I should put it in.

Jointname   -   put it where you want the gun to shoot from

mountPoint   -  Put it where you want your person to hold it
