Yeah, I don't get that. Pretty much everyone has Steam and most people should have TeamSpeak, yet still here we are.

So I've heard, but I don't actually know anyone that uses it so I've never had to.

its because skype used to be kinda okay at one point but that's long gone

I prefer skype just cause it isnt something that you have to constantly re-open every time.
also most other things lack Video and screen sharing (video sharing we use time to time, but screensharing we use A LOT)
Yeah, I don't get that. Pretty much everyone has Steam and most people should have TeamSpeak,
both of those lack screensharing capabilities, steam is hard to manage having a entire group in at once, and teamspeak is basically entirely voice based, if you want to talk in text you have to be in the group with all the people talking and some people probably wouldnt want to do that.

as far as pure voicechatting goes, skype is a very bad choice. teamspeak, mumble, etc, work better.

i cant really figure out why you'd use screensharing that much but hey sadly i dont know anything but skype that does that

some of us play video games/draw and stream it usually through skype

its a lot less of a hassle than setting up say a twitch or something

Setting up a stream is as simple as "download thing, enter keycode."

does skype actually have a way to close incoming video to save resources? like say someone's streaming a game or some stuff and i don't care about it can i just not watch it and have skype not eat up my resources

eh, its still easier, also doesnt require people to have to open up something else to watch the stream stuff, and the link to it could be missed, and if you're watching it on there, its more annoying having to switch over to the other program and back just to look at the text chat going on.

You can set it so you dont receive video/screenshare from anyone in the Options so yeah
