I bought a Wacom One Small. It was like $35 first-hand, which was ridiculous cheap (discount). It's not really feature-driven (no actual buttons except the 2 pen buttons, also no touch) and it's quite small... But it's still Wacom quality and the pen is great, also battery-less.
The first thing I drew seriously is in Krita, a box texture thing. Manually drew the Color, Specular & Bump maps. Here's the 3D views of it.
