TINY BOOT FOR STRONG MAN

welp, I guess I'll just keep drawing and using references. maybe it'll sink in
why did you disregard my rotoscoping advice?

why did you disregard my rotoscoping advice?
yeah, granted rotoscoping is basically tracing, but you can actually learn a lot from tracing an image and it's a quick way to study anatomy

just don't claim the art as yours tho or release it to the public

????

rotoscoping would be making a picture of yourself with the perspective and pose, and making a draft sketch of those outlines to use as reference for said pose and perspective
its barely 'tracing' and you can definitely claim that art as 'yours'

methods like this get used sooooooooooo much in the animation world by everyone

here is a profesional animator doing a videoguide on how to rotoscope https://youtu.be/vY-qmAGMFUY?t=3m47s
here are the results https://youtu.be/RNa5cdKFXC0?t=6m31s and as you can see the perspective is beautifully done

I've been thinking of using pictures of myself as a ref for a while now, I'm just afraid that someone will see it and judge me for it.

I use rotoscoping to draw certain poses and mostly just hands
But i rarely ever draw so eh

looks like someone didn't see this vid

why did you disregard my rotoscoping advice?

I just forgot to respond to it.

I recently discovered a nice 3d posing  program (designdoll) and I think I'll make poses in that for tracing 👌

i really discourage doing it that way since it shows you the muscles which is something you do not want to be spoonfed with.
it also allows tracing instead of pose sketching which is also a very bad way to learn.

you might as well trace other people's art then, you learn the same amount from both, which is almost nothing.

I ended up on it because I was trying to look for a friend, so I was just going through all of the populated servers. I had some fun encounters doing that, but that's not what this story is about.
Well, something came of me server hopping to find my friend. I joined Kohoutek's server, and when I didn't see my friend in it, I said "Draw me like one of your block girls" I came back the next day to find that he made this:

so how is it different from rotoscoping? besides, I'm not going to just trace everything or use the software as a crutch forever.
