Takato took the activity when he left

Where have you people been? I had to use the necromecon to bump this topic.

This topic is obviously dead.

I was looking forward to having Takato accepting my Gunblade suggestion, but since he left, I could still make it if I had a suitable model.

Hey guys. Guess what. Tak left. Quit bumping the topic

These models are surely not made for blockland.

You would rather me make duplicate, identical datablocks instead of using ones that already exist, which not only reduces the amount of content you can use, but also increases downloading time for clients and in extreme cases can sacrifice gaming performance? That doesn't sound all that intelligent from my perspective.

I just don't like how some have different sounds and animations while others do not. If you cannot fit it all, then alright, Ill accept that. If your worries are about the download times, I really don't think an extra sound file would add much, granted its not ridiculously big. The animation, maybe, but its a price I would pay for a perfect weapon.

That last part is insulting..

That's a shame.

Whoever the forget said I left had best get their stuff straight.

My HDD crashed about a month or so ago and I couldn't get my stuff. My laptop has also been out-of-commision (a motherboard failure) for about 2 weeks now.

But now I have my HD and all my stuff back, so I'm gonna keep working on this.

I didn't leave. Not intentionally.

So...

HAI EVERYONE SORRY I WUZ GAWN LAWL etc etc

These are very beautiful models, I admire the great amount of detail you put into them. Unfortunately, they don't look as spectacular in-game as they do in renders so most of the designs on the hilt aren't even going to be seen by the player, therefore having such elaborate shapes that raise the polycount is useless. I encourage your detailed modelling as long as you don't go crazy, but try to optimize.

Actually, Sketch-Up's renderer is VERY similar to Torques as far as the end result goes.

When I model, I think like Im making a FPS view model, but since you cant do that in torque, it also ends up as somewhat of a polygon parade :P

But all of the details are noticeable in 1st person, even on a low res like 800x600, so there's no real harm in it. Just don't be a moron and spam the stuff out of the item spawns and you're fine :P

Also, two-handed sword for v4(?) -- Requiem from Soul Calibur

Obviously nowhere near complete, still got a lot to do :P
