Badspot doesn't own Blockland because he used Windows to create it!

You can't steal something that is being given away freely.

A painting in a museum is not being given away, but you can take a photo of it. You can print it off and stick it in your house, but if you try to sell it and claim its the real thing you are causing trouble.

Anyway, don't start trying to apply legal practice to in-game creations. That is silly. But its my project, so I own it as much as anyone can own a build in Blockland, and I certainly have more right over it than randoms who take it.

--- Quote from: Skele on January 11, 2011, 11:46:24 PM ---You created it using a game made by Badspot. He has clearly stated, several times now, that freely saving builds from a server is allowed and intended.

If you host your build, in any way, you are essentially allowing people to save the build.

Oh, come on.
What the hell is wrong with you people. Can somebody please explain to me why nobody is reading nor understanding all the very simple things I write. Lets make it easier, since you are all having so much trouble.

--- Quote from: Sheath on January 11, 2011, 10:10:23 PM --- I'd be quite happy if someone visited Isar, saved it, then screwed around with it for fun. Even if they hosted a DM inside Isar I wouldn't mind. But when someone takes it, tries to impersonate me, and tries to claim its the real Isar server, thats a problem. In Valid_'s case this apparently wasn't his intention to cause problems, but he did.

Edman:

As a note, i never saved the server.

Skele:

I'm just saying that it shouldn't be considered theft. I agree that claiming someone else's work is an ass thing to do, but you've already posted it on the forums and shown everyone that you made it. People know you've made it. By hosting it though you are allowing people to save it and do with it what they will.

But, does that mean they can host it really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like even as to claim it as their own?
