It is quite perplexing that the bottom line is you don't think people deserve extra chances, when you are getting an extra chance yourself. It seems the only logical things you can do is either stop living in the past, or ask Badspot to ban both of you. And don't give the "he's had 7 chances I've only had 1." Because his 7th chance so far has been more successful than your 2nd.

He probably will revert to his old self, but you being a cry baby because he was a meanie face to you in the past doesn't mean you get an "I told you so" moment, it means you were whining about the past.
