fuq it here's part two
The Proeliator rocked to port, the sign of another fusion missile hitting its target.
Admiral Marcus “Ghoul” Knightley was tired of this battle already. It was dishonorable of the Argosians to use such a massive fleet, but it had come to be expected out of such slime.
“Status report,” he bellowed as the ship continued to shake.
“I’m not sure captain,” replied the low level crewman who replaced lieutenant O’shaw after her untimely demise ten minutes ago. “It appears that last missile set off a chain reaction in the starboard magazine.”
“Damnit. How’s the fleet holding up?” Knightley asked hopefully.
“Most of the escorts are gone, we’ve lost the Justice, and the Carrier Aurora is sending a distress signal.” Lieutenant Dawes reported. Dawes was the longest-surviving bridge crewmember under Knightley’s command, and it didn’t look like her luck was going to change. “Scratch that sir, we’re the only intact ship left. The Aurora is down. Her fighters are requesting permission to land in the cargo bays.”
“That’s a negative. We need them out there providing point defense.” As he finished that sentence, the main viewscreen activated. A small maroon-skinned humanoid appeared on the screen.
“Alliance Admiral, this is Praetor Tachtåed of the Royal Argosian Navy. You are outnumbered three to one. Disable your weapons, and prepare to be boarded. Compliance will result in your surviv-” The xeno never finished his sentence. Knightley cut the feed.
“Dawes,” he said, “I want a full salvo from our remaining photon howitzers on the command ship.” Before she could comply, however, the anonymous crewmember raised his hand.
“S-sir!” He stuttered. “Massive warp anomaly opening up in the middle of their forces!”
“What.” Knightley growled.
“Sir, enemy ships are being pulled in,” Dawes confirmed. “I’m patching it through to the main screen now.”
What they saw they could not believe. A massive tear in space itself had opened, white light spewing from within. The Argosian ships were slowly pulled in.
“Sir, enemy ships are confirmed as kills. I’m no longer picking anything up.”
Knightley breathed a sigh of relief. Dawes suddenly looked confused.
“Uh, sir...” Her voice trailed off.
“What is it, lieutenant?”
“We’re receiving a transmission from the other side.” She said incredulously. “It uses current Alliance FOF tags.”
Knightley was equally puzzled. As far as he knew, nothing was capable of what he had just seen. As the message finished downloading, he looked down at his datapad.
“Dawes, lay in a course for Arcturus. Highcom needs to see this.”
