Wouldn't game maker be your engine?

Game Maker is more a compiler than an engine no?

Even so I totally re-wrote the code from my last game.

It depends if it has prestructured game elements.
Also, it can be both.
Torque is an engine, yet you could also say "torquescript compiler" and not be corrected.

Few tips: Blood splats, while they work, they should be in a random position each time.
Sprites, they just need a few more frames.

Game Maker does have events but I usually write my game in code.

I have been using events more often though due to laziness.

I think the main reason is because I had to re-write the same loving script 4 loving times. I couldn't get the projection to work properly.

and keo, don't use game maker. :|
learn a good language, find a proper game engine. the results are exponentially better and more rewarding.

Talking about blood splats, I'd like to point out that your blood splats are actually *behind* most of the gameplay sprites.

Also today was funny as hell. Me and my friend were richarding around with my game at school. Zombie cap rate of 1000 + 0.1 second respawn time = epic.

I understand but I currently can't fix it since I am unable to use projection ortho. Long story.

I'll have to re-write code and I don't want to bother with it right now.



Don't make the blood splatter on the screen. It looks silly in a 2D game when the zombie isn't actually in front of your face. It'd be better to have blood splatter around the zombie after it dies, or even on the player.

Also why u scrap Espilon Project
I spent at least an hour making those sprites and now they're gone. ;-;
