I sort of do it for normal typing (I know where the keys are, so I don't have to look or anything). It's actually quite fast, around 40 WPM last time I checked, and it's probably gotten faster since then. I use my left hand way more than my right though.

Also, I've heard it called "hunt and peck".

When I used to have to take typing classes, I would type the way I normally do at a decent speed, and with a few errors but I would usually recognize and fix them almost immediately, and I would almost never have to look at the keyboard. Then the teacher would show up, and I would go back to "proper" typing until they left. During that time I would probably manage to type a really short sentence really slow with a bunch of errors, and I would be looking at the keyboard almost the entire time (and when I wasn't, I would hit the wrong keys).

I used to hunt and peck when I first started using computers. I still do, except now, there is no hunt. I only peck, using all of my fingers. Without any milk.

I ahve to look at the keyboard and use both my hands, but I am so horribley inaccurate i always hit a billion kys at once and make  atypo, or get the timing worng.

people say i type wrong because i use my middle finger primarily, even though i use it because it is always the closest to the middle of the keyboard. it's ironic because i have twice the WPM than these people do and they all have to stare at the keyboard to type. it's not like i only use my middle fingers, i only use them for letters in the middle of the keyboard. they are also my longest fingers so i don't understand why people get so pissed off about it.
