I would consider a minimap mod a cheat, personally. Part of Minecraft for me is finding ways to keep your bearings and orienting yourself in the world.

It's the only one that's broken. I run all of the others though. Also using BetterLight/BetterGrass and the Minimap.

Are those the only ones you have? Betterlight might be conflicting with some other mod.
Ah, what do I know. Did you install it right?
