You are correct, and a .38 Special is a small cartridge.

My review of your set:

The .880 special isn't a bad replacement. More damage for a smaller cylinder size.
The rapier is a stupid idea. It doesn't even offer another style of play, it just makes the spy less capable of doing his job, completely defeating the purpose of the spy. He's not a combat class, his primary attack is to knife and run, taking away his ability to deal a backstab makes him almost worthless. You backstab someone with the rapier, and it does damage, which is cute, but then they've turned around and you are dead.
The laser watch is semi-neat, but overall useless. By the time you start firing the laser, you're already dead seeing as it increases in damage over time, and because of the rapier you can't disguise or backstab any enemy.

Overall the set isn't well thought out at all. You didn't consider how the spy is supposed to be played or his role on the team. Even the revolver is a generic "sacrifice X for damage" weapon.

You don't read much do you?

--- Quote from: naturemon on February 17, 2011, 09:28:37 PM ---But you see there has to be a way to make someone pick that spy than a scout, the scout is what your spy is like, minus the speed bonus.

Lots of damage if you are close, which is easy for scouts because of their speed, but this set will be solely reliant on camping in corners.

I was talking about this set.

The rapier is pretty much an actual melee weapon with the added bonus of mini-critting on backstab. It doesn't do pisspoor damage if you miss a backstab, unlike the knife.

I was going to make the revolver replace the sapper with something else but I couldn't think of what to put instead.

Tell that to the genius that thought up the Eyelander and Targe.

It still undermines the purpose of the spy, and is generally a dumb idea.

No stuff. The sword/targe were the dumbest additions to date.

I did read it. Even with this set there are tons of differences.
