I know, Laptops= necessary, if at all in college.

One part of the school is filled with PC's that have windows 7.
The rest of the school has windows XP.

To be honest, I think they should do a fundraiser to get better electronics.

Schoolbooks may not be the most up to date but hell they prevent people from goofing off more than usual.

1.) Every student should get a wheelchair because it's a strain on our meek little legs to walk.

A guy in my Troop gets a laptop from his school because he has a muscle disorder of some sort that keeps him from writing legibly.

The fact is that since that laptop belongs to his school, they can do whatever they want with it, and he can't. For example, he couldn't install Linux or whatever on there because it's not his computer.

If you're some brainless user that just plays Farmville in IE6, then fine. If you actually want to do some major modifications to software/hardware, though, you can't.

Buy your own computers. Don't make my parent's tax dollars go to some outdated computer that your school is letting you borrow.

And don't forget the school that spied on their students through webcams.

My school gives everyone really good laptops. Then again we need them because of the modeling and rendering and programming and all the stuff we have to do on them. Plus we are paying for them ourselves actually... ah well.

My school's laptops are alright. The only problem is that they insist on us using Internet Explorer only.

I would find using a laptop to do my classwork distracting and I probably wouldn't get anything done. And anyway, I prefer a pen and some paper with a textbook to learn. I only use my laptop to type up essays, and that is usually given out as homework.
