Author Topic: Let's Build: Brintston  (Read 2755 times)

Double toast:

I'm going to call the Red/Yellow option the winner and post the new picture. +2 houses, -46 Wood.

A view toward the 'main' town from the outlying houses.

Suddenly, someone exclaims that he thought he saw someone in the forest. What do?

Let's talk tactics and numbers. It seems to me that if we go in guns a-blazing, we might kill whatever is in there, but what if they're not hostile to us -- yet? We would provoke a war which we probably can't sustain. We honestly have, as of yet, no idea what's over the next hill.

What about size? If we make the group too small, then any hostiles we do find will pick us off with ease; too large, and the group seems hostile even with only moderate weaponry.

I'm not going to name a specific poll option and put obvious logic behind it because I'm not quite sure which tactic will work best. Let's see where this one goes, should be interesting.

Edit: More deforestation has occured! +30 wood.
Wood: 34

Six men moderately armed with orders to return hostile fire and here's why:
They don't appear as too much of a crushing force, so it's less likely this group would raise a warning flag in someone else's mind; but they still have enough authorative force behind them to make a fairly large impression on any hostiles who do decide to attack them.

Meh, I'd personally prefer the scouting parties. Maybe just because if the entire group DOES somehow get killed, the scouting group is less lives pointlessly lost. However, I have to get up in the morning, so I'm going to go not play Minecraft. At all. Even as I bring up the Minecraft executable.

Yeah, we've all been there bro.

And I'm with the small armed scouts.

Wow, this poll is ridiculously close to tied. I'm just glad that the 'fire at will' voters have stopped, that probably would not have been good.

All right, I'm calling it. Moderately armed group with orders to return fire wins.

The group sets off for the place where the unknown someone was seen.

Shortly thereafter, they return along with twenty-four nonhostile natives. (Now do you see why firing at will could have been a bad idea?)

The apparent leader of the natives' group establishes relationship with the leader of the town (us) and says that the shoreline toward the ocean is uninhabited, so it would be relatively safe for us to claim it.

An 'ambassador' of sorts stays behind to keep relationships between the two villages friendly.

Ally get: Natives. Land expansion get: Shorefront.

Looking out toward the shoreline from the top of the lumbermill.

Last poll of the year (no not a real year):

More roads need to be built, and there's going to be housing built if any road is built.

If you choose to build nothing, then nothing changes.
If you choose to build a road, the blue housing is built and the used-to-be curve becomes what's shown by yellow.

Believe it or not, this decision will have signifigant impact in future events.

Edit: Ahhh, can't get the poll to work! :C
