I believe that's only burst fire because the gun would heat up and become unusable in full auto, hence why it never went into production.

no it didn't go into production because the germans pulled the funding
it had a great feature in burst fire the the 3 rounds were fired BEFORE the recoil was felt

I have two suggestions for you on the burst fire topic
1. Make one or more of the current weapons (FAMAS or MP5 are the only weapons I know can be burst) have a full/burst selection instead of a full/semi,
and/or
2. Make a new weapon that is burst/semi.

nope, but a M16A3 then?
EDIT: The FN FAL has burst-fire capabillities!
