So what I gather is you guys found out he loaded our HQ in his own server that nobody else has access to. Is this correct?

If so, I don't see why it's such an issue. It was in his own private server. If it's constantly dead, he was probably aware of it and figured nobody would get in. I don't see any harm as long as he isn't claiming ownership. Do you have any evidence to show he is?

I just don't see why it's such a big deal. lol

Thats what i'm getting at too, Rem and I were trying to join his server and basically after we couldn't get in, I figured nobody else could, and therefore it wasn't a big issue.

kissup...

OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU GENERAL JAKE!!!

Yes, but even though people can't join, he still tried to host it over the internet.

And given that he named it something other than "AoB HQ" I don't think he planned on giving us credit. Which is all we ask. If the function to save a build from any server is available, it's honestly a surprise this kind of thing doesn't happen as frequently as one might expect.

You bring up a good point though, I don't think it's necessarily a terrible thing, but we do need to talk to him and make sure we're getting credit. Since nobody can join, I'm not sure if he's going to fix that or give up completely.

I'm not sure whether the server's inaccesibility was intended or not, it could have been doing the same thing my server does. I just find it odd that he run an internet server at all when he could just use single player.

Which is why I'm certain he had the intention of publicly hosting it. And that also explains why the server hasn't been back up, because he probably realized nobody could join.

Well considering he stopped and started, i'm assuming he actually had to go and it will be up at some time later.  But again I haven't really said anything until now because you guys are all silly about it.

Of course it was meant to be publicly hosted, but nobody can join so its not an issue.

And

unless his name is justin clark, i don't think that's him...

Try Benofdoom1 for me and Flaedr for gla.

You don't know for a fact what his intention was. Back before I could host servers on BL, I used to just host them as internet because I was too lazy to switch it to SP, and I knew nobody could join. And I personally don't think the server name is relevant given those circumstances. Maybe it's just be, but you guys are sorta sounding overly-posessive in a situation where nothing has been done wrong. I mean, innocent until proven guilty, right?

If you can find me an instance where you can prove he's hosting it where other people can access it, and he's taking credit for himself, I'm with you. But as of yet, I think you guys should just let it go. =P
Has this even happened since a few days ago?

it just started like yesterday.

it just started like yesterday.
True, but it's all I've heard about since it started.

Amongst the distracting of the build steal, it's been confirmed that we will be looking for a host for the second server, and once one is chosen and has proven to be a working host, we'll begin on the Ski Resort.

I'm emailing Rem the save file of the resort as it's started, and, well, I'm excited my idea was voted for! Yeah!

I'm not concerned about the build steal anymore, although we can keep an eye open for him/the build elsewhere publicly, I think we can move on for now.

ok well...

Hey Ben, as your Idea Boy, I have a new idea for you that could bring you fame and fortune! It's pretty good actually, and could be really used on some official servers. I come to you because A) because your one of my favorite/best scripters I know, B) because your my friend and I like to give you the chance to create something first, before I hand the idea over to a complete stranger or something. So anyway, PM me if your interested:)

But i cant script.. well.

Ugh, too tired to read all that... will just come to server, for fun, and possibly a backup App, i have a good idea.
