Everything is made of basic shapes. First you have to find out what those shapes are.

I start by copying standard poses, then every time I come across a feature or pose I like, I sketch that.

You'll start to get something that looks like this:



And you can copy bits and pieces from this "study sheet" when you draw. Eventually, you'll begin to memorize how to draw things and won't need the study sheet anymore.
