Do real gamers care about graphics?

As a matter of fact I have played Black Ops.

Dwarf Fortress doesn't look, in the slightest, like a board game. There aren't many things that use "dice rolls" except combat and quality from what I assume.

How can it look like a "Board game"? it's top down 2D, so what? and trying to point at Black ops as the game it "Should look like" is pretty handicapped.

I am currently playing STALKER Call of Pripyat on the lowest settings which look like complete stuff, I am enjoying the whole experience and I am also completely immersed.

Graphics don't mean stuff buddy, if you're so thick that you can't even realise that much then you should go back to playing whatever mediocre games you're using as your examples and get out of this thread
