| Why is RTB scanning for proxies? |

Most IRC servers don't want you using proxies to circumvent bans and whatnot, so most of them do an open proxy scan. |

An open proxy is commonly used for anonymity and to circumvent bans. FreeNode(RTB's IRC server, not owned by RTB) blocks open proxies. |
