15% of my money is going into a retirement account.
15% of my money is going into a big-spending/emergency fund.
The remainder of my money will be summed up and bills will be deducted immediately. The remainder is spending money and/or investment money.
If I decided on doing this, the amount of time that it would take for the money to pile up would be quite a bit so it would not some haphazard purchase, nor would it interfere with my eating (god forbid).
I am a philanthrophist. Money I spend on myself is never appreciated. My steam account is worth hundreds of dollars, and I've spent dozens more on those loving crates in TF2. These things never mean anything to me. But do you know what does? Buying something for someone else.
Even if something happens with that person and I end up loathing them, I have always felt good about giving a gift. If I buy something and they don't like it I still feel good about going out of my way to try and make someone else feel better. Miika has an extraordinary "cute" special interest so there's no doubt she'll put these things to good use.
Just because you are some prick that considers all women an investment does not make it is impossible for anyone else to legitimately enjoy the long-forgotten practice of gift giving, nor does it mean I'm buying her off like a two-dollar whore. Eat stuff.
