Not to mention the retaliation the Japanese got far outweighs the damage caused from Pearl Harbour. There was like 70-100 times the casualties from Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the atomic bombs. Not to mention the fallout afterwards.

Agreed.

It seems that every god dam human being is blood thirsty for revenge and are raping ever excuse to have a reason to shoot each other.

Also, The guy behind the bombing committed Self Delete in shame.

Really?

Well then lets send some men. I think we should help in any way possible.

We've been known for going out of our way to help people even if our intentions aren't good *cough cough Vietnam War cough cough* but how about we do something out of moral for once?
You do know Japan still downplays all the atrocities their empire did?

Or is Glorious Nippon infallible?

People give Iran stuff for having a state opinion that the Holocaust never existed, but nobody notices how Japan treated it's neighbors during WWII and the aftermath.

We have been helping them...
I'm also pretty sure we're gonna keep helping them cause we have our military base there and what not

We've got a Naval fleet based out of Yokosuka.

Which shouldn't be taken into account.

This isn't a debate on who's the biggest starfish. Once again it seems everyone is just looking for an excuse to screw each other over.

Well then good but I still think we could do more and common American citizens could start caring more rather than stalking their favorite celebrities.

You didn't even know we were helping them though

Also fire bombing their cities killed far more people then the atomic bomb if im not mistaken

You have a point but I still feel we could do more.

I'm still pissed off about how many ignorant, tribal people there still are. I didn't know we were still in the 1800's.

Well you're promoting the discussion, might as well rattle off some relevant facts myself.

I suppose this reaction from the fundamentalists in America doesn't surprise me anymore than the "lol dead monday" response after the Haiti Earthquake.

It's the internet, that's for sure.

Yeah true. But that still doesn't mean there isn't ignorant people out there.

Of course, and given there's an easily accessible global medium means people read this stuff more frequently. They pretty much should be called out on their bullstuff.

I think the world should always lend a hand in these situations, regardless who's affected. Human suffering doesn't somehow choose to be more dramatic on its own. The question shouldn't be "Can we help?" but rather "Are we doing enough to make a difference?" But I think it's too early to get a clear answer on the response from the Japanese government since there's multiple crises.

Well said. But information doesn't sometimes change the public opinion. Only the participation of our entire nation is when we can make a difference.

Something else that also pisses me off is the News. They talk about half a minute on how Japan is effected then they start ranting about how the earthquake will hit us or how our power plants are in danger. That's all well said but this drags on for minutes as compared to that small glimpse at the real crCIA.

I agree, the sensationalistic angle the media is taking on this whole event. It's true the nuclear power plants are in sorry shape and need to be considered in critical condition, but now it's like this is suddenly a leverage point for anti-nuclear politicians. It's like the second question they ask in the interviews is "what's your take on nuclear energy and how this earthquake might affect it's future?", which is completely off the topic. When they mention Chernobyl, that's just completely silly (Soviet designed reactor systems and a completely different set of events happened there).

I really hope those plants get stabilized so the focus will be back on providing aid.

だから私と同情するだろ!でも米国なぜまもっているの?あっ、ほんと悪だ。この人害は醜態よ。泣いてあげる思う。。。ゲームだと思うに似ています、お前構わないよ

I believe there's more than just "complete starfish" in these people, this is the kind of dumbfounding ignorance that totalitarian regimes have sought to eradicate. This isn't just things posted anonymously on the internet, these are people who know very well that their friends, family and employer can see what they post, and they don't care. They aren't trolling, they aren't trying to be funny, they genuinely think these people deserved this because of a loving sneak attack pulled by a corrupt, evil rulers that controlled the loving military.

It's nearly impossible, a fantasy at that, to believe that human beings are naturally good when they're this ignorant.

Human beings are never pure good.

Well my point is that our country should start giving a stuff and help them out.

I heard someone say that we shouldn't help them because they didn't help us during 9/11. Well of course they didn't, we're like the most loving rich nation in the world.

If a rich man's house burned down you wouldn't help pay to help him make a new one.
Do you watch the news? we're taking steps to help these unfortunate people.

Every country is forgeted up.  Not only America and Japan, but every loving country is forgeted up.

Top 5 dumb things to do that make you look like a forgethead during disaters elsewhere:

- Compare them to other disasters, as if its a competition and that a worser situation elsewhere makes the current one any better
- Laugh at the people in peril and make jokes of poor taste
- Pretend its karma / God / some stupid made up force
- Be tribal and / or generally discriminative
- Show happiness or satisfaction to loss of life

Some people tick all these boxes.
