Author Topic: White flashes wtf  (Read 2923 times)

I've been getting these white flashes whenever I get up out of a chair or from lying down. They impair my hearing, vision, and weaken me to the point of no standing. They last about 2-3 seconds but are irritating as forget. I've had it for 1 1/2 months now and I mentioned it on another topic and Shadowed999 said it probably has something to do with blood flow.

I've also been told it could probably be a form of epilepsy or a heart condition. I honestly do not know, a doctors appointment has yet to be scheduled.

Help me please, thanks.
You got up too fast It sometimes hapens to me.

This happens to everybody, it's simply the blood falling out of your brain and rushing back in because you got up so fast. This can make someone fall unconscious for a short period of time or before you even hit the ground.
I've got up so fast and run into a room real quick just to trip and fall confused. It's weird, but perfectly normal.
Damnit beat to it

I have a similar problem, whenever I go to sleep, I hear a voice and my vision feels poor and it lasts for 5 seconds or so.

This

Its not always white flashes

When this happens to me, I stand up and after 3 seconds is when it hits me, not instantly. I go blind and I see black, my head feels heavy and I feel like I lost my balance. This is perfectly normal to you and you dont have to worry, everyone gets it but the results might be slightly different

Thats called a dream :P

Blood.
It happens to me all the time.
But I seem to be the only person who absolutely loves it.

did I say sleep? I actually meant lying down, and no it is not a dream.

Tom

Like others have said, probably a head rush. But it might be something slightly different because the article doesn't mention anything about white flashes.

I enjoy this. Especially when it lasts a while, it's like a "Natural high" type of thing.

What the forget? Why is everyone saying "it's normal, it happens to everybody" I've never experienced this once, and I've stayed on my computer for 8+ hours at a time.

Contrary to what everyone is saying, it is not blood rushing in or out of the brain.

White flashes and impaired hearing is NOT common with the typical "quickly standing up/sitting down".

Go see a doctor.  It's either a cardiac problem or a neurological problem.

You need to be laying down, thats the most effective. Also standing up very quickly is another then. Laydown and play games for like 4 hours and suddenly stand up. Make sure theres no sharp objects nearby

Its normal

When there is no blood to a specific part of the body, it becomes "disabled" to prevent damage without oxygen as much as possible (Its like the cells are holding their breath, while they are holding it they stop whatever they are doing)

Thats why when you stand up quickly, the blood is flushed from your head thanks to gravity and for your body to prevent permanent damage your eyes, ears, and even your smelling, it all gets disabled to prevent damage.

Try getting up slower. When I get up fast I'm dizzy.

Tom

Try to get some exercise so your heart doesn't have to work so hard.

What, I get plenty of exercise, foo.
