Nope.
There WAS a v1 for retail. It just didn't jump from v0002 to v7.
I just can't remember what versions were skipped. :c

I wasn't sure if the point of your post was to argue against v7, or against v0002, but my v0002 was kinda just a random guess from something I might have seen before.
