You're overplaying too few cards.
The California Child Protective Services are not baby snatchers, and I know this because she told me. She told me about how miserable she was. She told me how alone she was. She told me how she wanted to go to school but her mother wouldn't let her because she thought Shelby would get picked on. Her mother robbed her of an education and poisoned her chances at a successful future because of a paranoid overprotective nature.
I would have never of called the Child Protective Services without her permission, and I wasn't the first person to think about it. She told me that she and her sister had contemplated it in the past but decided against it, in fear that they might get seperated.
I knew what I was doing. I knew that she was upset. I knew that her mother was treating her in a criminal manner and that a state agent could do check-ups on the family to make sure that she was recieving what she needed.
The problem is she was scared of change, and did not understand why some random guy would take such a liking to her. I have recent emails between the two of us that pretty much state this verbatim.
You're not going to get me to back down on this one. You are assuming so much with so little because you think I am incapable of being compassionate.

I never asked her to live with me.
And I am just over 2 years older than her.
