what are the ones called that have the circle of soft stuff covering your ear, instead of surrounding it?

That's what a over-ear or around-ear headphone is.

I beat your half deaf as well, I wear my headphones a max of 1-2 hours a day and I have hearing problems alone from that.
I practically live with my headphones on. I got tinnutus but nothing serious.

Ears are cartilage, but the skin needs irigation, so yes, blood does circulate there.

Depends. The ones that go inside are called earBUDS. Two types of those, one that's wide and rapes your ear, the other one is slim and goes inside your ear, like a q-tip.

EDIT: If you get really technical there probably is. The bud ones, for example, are technically "Intraaural."

If companies gave you the bulky ones for default, you would use those instead.
