The 3-day limit added challenge and pressure.
It's like Pikmin compared to Pikmin 2, the first has the 30 day time limit while the second has none whatsoever.
At the same time, Majora's Mask has less dungeons and whatnot and is not nearly as long.

So I just got OOT.
I got the sword and deku sheild and mauled some blue plants that look imported from Mario. Inside a huge talking tree. So far so good :D
