I'd definitely call Minecraft a survival horror game. It has a cold atmosfear, with earie cave noises, monster noises while you can't even see them, and worst of all THE loving JUMPY MOMENTS. Seriously, I go into a cave, it's dark, I hear a lot of water, and suddenly CREEPER BEHIND ME. I usually survive, it's just the moment I see them. |

For me the biggest element is probably actually being scary in general. Things can be scary without all this general classification you've got going here |
