Author Topic: learning to type properly...  (Read 1513 times)

I dont know what the big dilio is.
Am I the only one who read that as "carrot?"

I don't have a "home" or "rest" row, and mainly use my indexes for the keys and ring-man finger for shift.

Wow, you don't even have that?  :cookieMonster:

I type almost twice as fast, lol.
when i dont do it how im used to. my old way was at 80WPM.
Type "Properly"? Pfft.. It's only a preferred way. I learnt by practicing typing while playing online games.. And then my hands get used to the keyboard.
its required at this high school.

its required at this high school.

What the hell?

loving government.

You can be equally efficient by adapting your own technique, I only use my index fingers and I type rather quickly. Really, just practice typing in the way that you're most comfortable with, I never really *did* that "proper typography" garbage. Unless you're one of those courtroom typists, as long as you're not searching for keys you're fine.

im going to high school in 2-3 years, and they require 35 WPM without looking

i decided to get a head start

...I have 123 WPM lol

Tell them that traditional methods =/= best method. Just because they can do it doesn't automatically mean you could.

I can do that, it's actually worse when you learn that way rather than your own.

I learned how to do it my own way.

Very few errors, like 100 words per minute with few errors if I be a try hard.

Rest my left hand on ASD and right on K and L.

Right handles delete and all other functions like space with both thumbs on the keyboard.

Altough I memorized the keyboard this way so I never have to look down even when correcting myself. :U

asdf jkl;
are your base finger placements for one.

I can get 60-65 WPM easily if i tried. If i tried really hard. I would get like 80-90.
