It's not that nobody noticed it. The guy developing it still has a full time job, and no real income from this project thus far (maybe some donations here and there). He simply couldn't afford to/didn't feel the need to launch a company until him and one other guy finally got their stuff together and did in hopes of speeding up development and/or licensing the engine to other people.
