well what's different about a planet like earth with many different ecosystems and earth itself?

Chlorophyll is green for a reason. (I think. I'm not too sure why. Plants grow better in certain lights I think, and green absorbs...etc)
If whatever filled the niche of plants were to be red, there would have to be some sort of reason for their redness, or it's most likely.
Imagine an ecosystem whose producers are completely different from vegetative organisms we're familiar with?

Chernobyl is nuclear for a reason. (I think. I'm not too sure why. Plants generate more electricity in certain nuclear energy, and nuclear energy become chernobyl, etc)
