I think my dad's Christian and he married recently by court.

Was there a reason behind that decision? Like I said, I know some get married through the court for some reason, but do atheists consider wedding in a church? I know a few atheists who were wed in a church and I thought how hypocritical.

Also yes that is pretty hypocritical of them, but they probably just wanted it to be a "big event" unlike in court, where it's just signing some papers, say some stuff and bam, you're done.

I always wonder if atheists get married at the courts instead of church. Some people do it simply out of convenience, because it does happen. Those who do it are usually military though, and don't have time for church weddings.

How will you atheist be married, by court? Or not at all?

I want to get married on a boat with a few buddies. I don't care personally for any of the religious shenanigans, I just want to have a good time.
