Author Topic: I need a GPU  (Read 1836 times)

I've never had problems with ATi drivers.

I have, but it's old and integrated.

I didn't see anyone say it but the newer 6950s can't be flashed to 6970s anymore. Atleast thats what I have heard

Honestly I have a 460GTX and I have yet to see a game that maxes out its performance except with stuff like Arma II Demo and Shogun 2.

Arma 2...

i have to run it on low Q_Q

I would go with the 560. If you were to get that go for the msi twin frozr one since they can overclock amazingly

I appreciate the input, but what's the basis for your opinion?

The reviews I have heard about the 560 have been widely positive. Also the amount a 560 can be overclocked is very impressive, and especially if you go with one of the msi twin frozr ones they run much cooler allowing for even more overclocking

Get the 560 over the 6950.

6970 over 560.

The 6950 is essentially a 6970.

The 6950 is essentially a 6970.

I heard the new ones can't be OC'd to the same power. :o

I want to remind you that the 460/560 is the lowest of the GTX series, for both 400s and 500s.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to future proof yourself by throwing in an extra ~$150 for a 470/570.

Unless you're really rich or something, then you should go for a 595 :cookieMonster:

I'm a college student working part time. I have a strict budget. Also, 560 > 470.

The indecisiveness is going to drive me insane.
