Rhode Island is in the middle of the ocean which means a crater that size would probably lower the water level in the ocean which I guess would be a good thing.
depends how deep it is. The ocean is pretty huge.

I think you misunderstood. He said a crater the size of Rhode Island, not a crater on Rhode Island.
