I think you can only put them on mud when there's grass on the mud.
Also, now I'm just waiting for the jungle to grow. :'3

jungle tress auto-grow on jungle grass since acorns cannot be placed on mud. straight from the update notes.
also for the grass to grow, stocking, you need to plant jungle grass seeds.
wait my eyes suck are those the little green things? can't see, too small :c

Theres two Places where theres jungle grass.
