Well think of it like this: How many good things can happen as a result of a person possessing a firearm?
Depends on the person. If I think of it like that, I might as well disarm the entire United States military.

the point of the amendment is so the people can always overthrow their corrupt government if needed.

founding fathers couldn't predict the use of automatic weapons in the future, but it would certainly be needed by civilians to do so.

everything available for purchase and use (within reason) but progressively more restrictive laws when you get more dangerous weapons.

it's basically how it is now in the usa, you can get semi-automatic weapons easily enough but a fully automatic assault rifle you need a license and owning the license means federal agents can demand you show the paperwork for the gun without notice

Anyone who says no guns is a liberal friend. The point of the amendment is so you can have "protection from your own government". Also, what about hunting. Saying that we should have no guns at all is a completely ignorant statement.

Well shoot, Burger, where have you been?

Just no automatics and only a few shotguns, the rest can stay in my opinion.

Handguns + Semi automatic rifles

Handguns + Semi automatic rifles + shotguns, lots of them.

But then again, if we should be able to have guns, then why shouldn't we be allowed to have buttons in our homes which kill people when pressed? Because that's essentially what a gun is. Sure, you can use a gun to protect yourself from the government, but how many times have guns been used like that in this country?

Maybe I just want to go hunting?

Also, I'm pretty sure most crimes were done with guns that were illegally acquired/done by felons or individuals who would not be legally allowed to own a gun.

but how many tines have guns been used like that in this country?
once. and its why we exist as an independent country today.

and the country is still very young, it may happen again.

Bullstuff:
create more anti-gun laws so criminals can still illegally obtain weapons and not fear others with guns because no one has guns

Because that's all people do with the guns they own... Also, just because we haven't used them for that reason don't mean we won't have to, none of your arguments are valid.

Well shoot, Burger, where have you been?
Around. ;)
