Author Topic: Shut the forget up about your goddamn loving ponies.  (Read 25527 times)

At first I had no real issue with My Little Pony and all the people liking it and posting about MLP. It seemed like it was a fad that would've died out in a week or so. But, it didn't and everyone who contributed in that topic is taking it way too far.

Half the people who claim to love the show are just trying to fit in by clinging to every fad and attacking anybody who says wrong of it, and it gets annoying when they attempt to force others to join in on the fad. I now have a problem with it because too many people who don't actually like it are being starfishs over it.

There's a reason things are popular, and it's usually because they're good. I personally love Friendship is Magic, it has simply amazing production values, a characterized ensemble cast, and for a children's show it has the rare habit of not insulting the viewer's intelligence. It's actually quite akin to Spongebob Squarepants in the way the show presents its comedy: it doesn't rely on shock humor or extreme vulgarity as most adult comedies do, it utilizes a brand of humor that can be understood by little children and adults.

You watched 11 seconds and think you know enough to be able to judge the show? What the forget?

Issue number one: Stop posting it everywhere.
If you want people to take you seriously, then stop being annoying about it. Believe it or not, nobody really appreciates it when you post the same image of the same show over and over again. Yes, we get it that you're a "brony" and you love everything that the cool people tell you to love.

Some people take it too far, but with any fandom, you will have people that try to be flamboyant about their object of affection.

Issue number two: We know you actually don't like it.
It's a show targeted towards little girls at the age of six to nine. It's pretty obvious that the people who actually like the show have issues. I myself have watched eleven seconds of it, and it is just like I had imagined. And we also know that you're only pretending to like this because you're either attempting to troll (and failing), or you've joined the fad because everyone in 4chan is doing it.

You're a loving idiot. If you're really so constrained by western social norms that you can't even bring yourself to watch it in the privacy of your own home, don't assume that everyone else is going to miss out on enjoying things in life because of some arbitrary expectation from the proletariat that tells them they can't watch what they see as infantile television programming.

Issue number three: You're not trolling people if you 'like' it.
You're actually making yourself look like a sheep. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing to like things that other people like, but the issue above says more on that. It makes you a sheep because just like you, everybody else thinks they're trolling people by contributing to the fad.

You call us sheep for genuinely enjoying a cartoon with all the same appeals as anime, yet you only watched 11 seconds of what I assume is the first episode and turned it off. Nobody here is trolling, you don't get 8000+ posts on 4chan everyday from a faux fandom, you don't get two MMOs and a stuff ton of fanart from it because people hate it. You seem to think there's a huge hive-mind of people trolling with Friendship is Magic because you can't bring yourself to overcome a loving handicapped western standard for men that says you aren't allowed to watch something like that because if you do it means you're gay and have a small snake.

You're falling in with the majority of sheep by hating something because you'd be too embarrassed to admit if you actually liked it.

Issue number four: It doesn't make you cool to copy 4chan.
This is an old problem that has been going on long enough. You want to know what that logo says up there at the top of the webpage?

This is an internet forum about a brick building game. No matter how awesome you seem to think 4chan is, you can stop trying to spread that stuff here. If you truly need to talk about 4chan, go to 4chan.

Go forget yourself.

You guys really need to get a sense of self-realization. You look really stupid by lurking around with an avatar from a baby's show and trying to troll people when they say your "favorite" show isn't as great as you make it out to be.

So stop trying to force this stupid fad on people. There's a different name for people who "like" that show, and it's called "impressionable idiot", not "brony".

30 years ago when anime first started coming to the United States, people who really enjoyed it were seen as nothing besides flamboyant or gay. Granted, this was the 80s when every school had a variety of Biff Tannens that were able to beat the stuff of anyone who admitted to watching that stuff, so most people kept it a secret that they actually watched anime during their own time. While anime fandom is almost socially acceptable now with all the anime cliques infesting every American high school ever, the fact that your opinion of FiM is so biased by backwards ideals shows that we haven't come far since the 80s.

You can call us impressionable idiots all you want, seeing as how the irony behind that is so concrete that it's tangible. The reason you watched 11 seconds of Friendship is Magic and turned it off is because you actually believe that the only definition of masculinity is Clark Gable and Arnold Schwarzenegger. You formulate opinions and judge things based on what society tells you to do, and since you'd probably get picked on admitting the fact you liked the show at school, you tell yourself that you need to hate it regardless of its actual quality. You know those people that claim to be independent, and to not give a forget about what anyone thinks? Well, "Bronies", as they call themselves, are true examples of that archetype. Those wiggers that tell themselves that sagging and rap are the coolest things ever, or the people that talk in thick ebonics and of nothing but love and drugs, take up smoking and get stupid piercings and tattoos, these are the people that would hate you for watching My Little Pony, and they only live and think that way because they're impressionable forgeters that do whatever their peers tell them to do.

Congratulations, you're in the same backwards, mouthbreathing crowd as the intellectually-barren morons that make up most of the Earth.

Which is even funnier because ITG clings onto the fad I mentioned before  :cookieMonster:

Stocking has won the argument and this thread should be locked due to what stocking just said.

ITG
In The Groove?

As in the four-panel rhythm game based off of the Stepmania engine?

Ike :U

I hate rap about drugs and love, sagging pants are for unproductive mondays. Rock/Metal all the way.

I just don't like the show, and wonder why older males actually enjoy it. I watched most of the first episode and got bored of it. But I'm not the macho man stereotype either because I love action filled and dramatic anime.

I'm with Ike and Chex every step of the way.

Yeah those ponys are getting annoying.

I don't like seeing anime everywhere, but I don't make a thread filled with hate.
Still not sure what makes ponies any different.

Stocking brings a great argument in though.

I would have to say that Stocking definitely got +1 respect from me.

But I really do enjoy the show.

I was laughing my head off at the latest episode.
also you can't judge the show by watching 11 seconds of it.
