Author Topic: People Standing Up for World Peace  (Read 3626 times)

Dreams aren't practical. Most of them don't pull through. Now get out of your silly fantasy and help the world with more serious issues! Get out there and make the world a better place. You don't need to STAND UP, you need to make things happen!

We're making things happen by standing up. If that's all you can do, even the smallest gesture can do wonders if everyone is dedicated.

We of course do not frown on going above and beyond that as you seem to think.

If this was looked upon practically, everyone would want world peace. But, the truth is, that can't happen. As I explained, sentient intellectual beings will never be left without the burden of violence. It's something we'll carry around until the day we go extinct.

Why, what's stopping us from a utopia?

Yes, every attempt at world peace before has failed, but if we don't believe that this time we will succeed it is already over.

Just stand up, believe, and let everything snowball into place.

Karl Marx, The creator of Marxism aka Communism had the same idea as you. There would be no violence, no jealousy, and no way to harm another in any form or fashion.

However, communism failed terribly. The only properly functioning communist country today is China, and they still fail to meet ends on human rights.

There can't be a utopia, it's utterly impossible. Unless you completely manipulate every aspect of every life for the rest of mankind, there's no way you can reach the state of utopia.

There is not a single thing stopping us other then our own doubt. We've made ourselves believe that greed and violence rule us.

We are in a pit of our own culture. Change is hard yes, very hard, but I believe that if enough people "stand up" and let love become the new social norm, we can accomplish anything.

Really though, I'm all for this. But some people will never change. We can't completely obliterate evil, we most co-op with it. Adaptation is a fantastic gift of life.

But some people will never change.

And that is the one thing we have to overcome as a society for this to work. Not that people can never change, but the belief that they never. As long as we continue with that excuse, no one will ever change for they will feel that are normal, and yes with how we are they are indeed normal. However, I believe that with enough change people will feel out of place clinging to selfish desires.

Just stand up, not everyone has to agree at first, but if enough show them the way, we can all change.

Your views are right, but at a time like this, they're not appropriate. Our world is still developing. I don't think the human race is mature enough to accept these opinions and note-worthy ideas.

forget your pony. Here's my snake.

Perhaps, and seeing as you have quite a positive view on the subject I won't argue with you anymore.

I do beg you to join us however.

Instead of wasting time and effort trying to make a utopia that will never happen, you should try improving the existing community.

Once upon a time, *Magick*Mage began his quest for peace. During that time, I made a topic that Mage was going to take over the world through peace and love(and brainwashing). All I can tell you is, even though half of the forum supported him, it just didn't work out.

It's a lost cause.

Hey guys remember in vallout NV when you had to doge the artillery strike in order to get to the boomers? I was the one launching the artillery. I thought you were a pony.

I'm sorry, but it's just not possible.

The fire's been burning since the world was turning. Even if you try to take it out, it's going to start a way to burn again.

A utopia shall never happen.
A dystopia, yes, but not a utopia.
"The Giver" is proof of that.
