I was asking whether or not the number was over how much you set, or how much you have.
EXAMPLE:
Server/Computer has 24GB RAM.
You devoted 512MB of RAM using:
java -Xincgc -Xmx512M -jar craftbukkit.jar (For Bukkit)
or
java -Xincgc -Xmx512M -jar minecraft_server.jar
or
You used the GUI, which is a horrible way of hosting.
THEN:
Your process went over either:
A. Your physical RAM: 24GB
B. Your set RAM: 512MB
You get it, can you please tell me which one it is now?
Stocking:

A lot of servers have 24GB of RAM, it's a very common number.
However, let's say you had a home computer with 2GB of RAM.

You said that you're server packages offered 256MB packages.
